Today I am going to talk about butterflies. I will admit that I was stumped on what to write about so asked my family and someone randomly yelled out butterfly so I guess I'll learn some new things as well.
They have six jointed legs, 3 body parts(head, chest, tail end), a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton.A butterfly's body is covered by tiny sensory hairs. Butterflies can only fly if their body temperature is above 86 degrees. Butterflies sun themselves to warm up in cool weather. As butterflies age the color of the wings fade and become a bit ragged.
There is a lot of things about butterflies that I didn't know. They truly are an amazing species and I feel bad now for trapping them in buckets and forgetting and leaving them there. They are beautiful creatures with all their amazing colors and the shapes of the wings are very unique.

Today I am going to talk about lions. Lions are one of my all time favorite type of animals. I believe this is because of my childhood(maybe even a bit of my adulthood) obsession with the Lion King. I LOVE the Lion King and watch it once or twice a year with my daughter. She has all of the Lion King movies memorized line for line because of me.
Lions are a bit odd.Usually males do the hunting in most other species, but for Lions it is actually the females who hunt. The females hunt because they are smaller and more agile then the males. The males however do protect the pride's territory and the cubs from other animals and lions. If you watch the Lion King then you know what a pride is but if not a pride is a group of lions of about 30 depending on food and water source. There is usually 12 females roughly and three males and the cubs.
Lions spend about 16-20 hours sleeping a day and are the laziest of the big cats. They are very affectionate to one another, rubbing heads, grooming, and purring. much like house cats occasionally do.

Huskies
This week I will be talking about Huskies and although I don't personally own one it is my goal in life to have owned a Husky.
Huskies can usually be very vocal dogs. Not all huskies are though. There is a man at my dog park who has 4 huskies and they are each very different. One on them is very whiny and all he does is "yell" at you when you are not watching him or you aren't petting him. The girl of the group is very calm and is the only one my dog gets along with. She is very good with puppies, but there is one bad thing about her. She loves to drag her butt across the ground and get it dirty. Nobody knows why she does this but she does it every day without fail. The other male and tiniest of the group is very rough. He likes to bark and growl at other dogs and loves to chase all the other dogs and then tackle them to the ground. He's a bit too aggressive for my taste. Last but not least you have the leader of the pack. He is the biggest and the loudest of the group. He usually stays quite unless a new dog is coming into the fenced area. If he growls at a dog then they will all gang up on the one dog. He doesn't care for my Dante too much since he is so tiny to him and so he usually tackles him down so we have to put Dante in the small dog area, but that will only work for so long.
Each husky has their own personality like all dogs and I hope to one day own one of these beautiful dogs.
